Criminal law
As a lawyer Primož Križnar brings extensive experience in criminal law to his practice. His expertise spans a diverse range of criminal cases, with a primary focus on criminal law and emerging technologies such as metadata, telecommunications, encryption, advanced surveillance systems, crypto assets, and the dark web. Specializing in covert investigative measures, advanced communication methods, cybercrime, hate speech, and comprehensive privacy protection, he has authored and co-authored numerous scientific and professional articles in these domains. Additionally, he contributed to the new Criminal Procedure Act with commentary and the forthcoming Practical Commentary on the Special Part of the Criminal Code (KZ-1) in 2024.
Serving as a national legal expert, he actively participated in European Commission studies addressing various topics, including online identity theft, metadata processing for criminal proceedings, anti-money laundering through criminal law, combatting fraud and counterfeiting in non-cash means of payment, control of weapon acquisition and possession, and the criminalization of firearms-related offenses.
Furthermore, he also co-authored the original Guidelines for the investigation of crypto- and dark web-related criminal offenses.
